Blotta Terms of Service
Welcome to Blotta. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Blotta mobile application (the "App") operated by Blotta ("we," "our," or "us"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to use Blotta. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the App on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Account Registration
To use Blotta, you must create an account by providing accurate and complete information, including your name, email address, username, and password. You are responsible for:
Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
All activity that occurs under your account.
Notifying us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are being used fraudulently.
3. Description of Service
Blotta is a social platform that allows users to:
Link investment brokerage accounts via Plaid to import trade history.
View, publish, and share investment transactions with other users.
Follow other users and view a social feed of trading activity.
Participate in leaderboards based on portfolio performance.
Explore aggregated market interest and trending tickers.
Blotta is not a financial advisor, broker-dealer, or investment platform. We do not provide investment advice, recommendations, or trading capabilities. The App is intended for informational and social purposes only.
4. Financial Data and Plaid
When you link a brokerage account, you authorize us to use Plaid Inc. ("Plaid") to access your investment transaction data on your behalf. By linking an account, you:
Acknowledge that your use of Plaid is subject to Plaid's End User Privacy Policy.
Understand that we access transaction data (ticker, amount, quantity, date, type) and account metadata (institution name, account type), but we never access your brokerage login credentials.
May disconnect your linked account at any time from the Settings screen.
We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of data provided by your financial institution or Plaid.
5. User Content and Conduct
When you publish a transaction, add a caption, or post a comment, you are creating user content. You retain ownership of your content, but by posting it on Blotta, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, distribute, and reproduce your content within the App for the purpose of operating the service.
You agree not to:
Post content that is false, misleading, defamatory, harassing, or otherwise objectionable.
Use the App to manipulate or deceive other users about your trading activity or performance.
Attempt to access another user's account or data without authorization.
Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the App.
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App.
Use the App for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these guidelines at our sole discretion.
6. Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your data. By using the App, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Leaderboards and Performance Data
Blotta calculates portfolio performance using a time-weighted return methodology based on your imported transaction data and publicly available market prices. You acknowledge that:
Performance calculations are approximate and provided for informational and entertainment purposes only.
Returns displayed on leaderboards should not be relied upon for investment decisions.
Market data may be delayed or unavailable, which can affect the accuracy of calculations.
We are not liable for any discrepancies between the performance shown in the App and your actual brokerage account performance.
8. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, code, features, trademarks, and branding, is the property of Blotta and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without our prior written consent.
9. Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen within the App. Upon deletion:
All of your data will be permanently removed from our systems, including transaction history, social data, and your Plaid connection.
This action is irreversible.
You may also request account deletion by contacting us at the email address listed below.
10. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:
THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.
THE RESULTS OR DATA PROVIDED THROUGH THE APP WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE.
ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.
BLOTTA IS NOT A REGISTERED INVESTMENT ADVISOR, BROKER-DEALER, OR FINANCIAL PLANNER. Nothing in the App constitutes investment advice. You should consult a qualified financial professional before making any investment decisions.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, BLOTTA AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:
YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP.
ANY UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO OR ALTERATION OF YOUR DATA.
ANY THIRD-PARTY CONDUCT OR CONTENT ON THE APP.
ANY INVESTMENT OR FINANCIAL DECISIONS MADE BASED ON INFORMATION DISPLAYED IN THE APP.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING UNDER THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US, IF ANY, IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Blotta and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:
Your use of the App.
Your violation of these Terms.
Your violation of any third-party rights.
13. Modifications to the Service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the App.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms within the App and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using the App and delete your account.
15. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in South Carolina, United States.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
17. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Blotta regarding your use of the App and supersede any prior agreements.
